Service Offerings
VMware vCloud Datacenter Services consist of three different service offerings. A single customer can have one
or more of the three offerings:
• Basic VDC – provides unreserved “pay per use.” It is designed for quick-start pilot projects, or for workloads
such as software testing that don’t need resource reservations/guarantee.
• Committed VDC – provides reserved compute resources (subscription model) with the ability to burst above
committed levels if additional capacity is available. It offers predictable performance by reserving resources for
workloads within a multitenant infrastructure, while also enabling on-demand self-service.
• Dedicated VDC – provides dedicated compute resources (using specific, dedicated hardware), sometimes
known as virtual private cloud. It offers predictable performance by reserving dedicated resources, which is
useful for situations where security or compliance requirements require physical separation.

Why VMWare?

Why VMWare?

VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 (Desktop and Mobility Deployment) – The industry-recognized VCAP6-DTM Deploy certification validates that you know how to deploy and optimize VMware Horizon 6 (with View) environments. It proves that you have the knowledge and skills essential to leverage best practices to provide a scalable and reliable Business Mobility platform for your company. Some of the subjects include: Configuring and managing Horizon View components, configuring cloud pod archituecture, configuring Group Policy settings related to Horizon View, Configuring and optimizing desktop images for Horizon View & Mirage, Configuring and managing App Volumes AppStacks, Configuring desktop pools, Configuring and deploying ThinApp packaged applications, Configuring VMWare Identity Manager, etc.Sebastian’s take on the VCAP6 exam: “In my own viewpoint VCAP6 examination is way better experience compared to VCAP5, the new exam looks exactly like VMware HOL. The interface is not difficult, questions are prepared on the right side of the screen, and could be concealed aside or even restored when needed. My bits of advice to the questions window: if you wish to make it floating, you must know how to restore it back. I ended up shifting it around merely because I forget how to restore it back. The 2 arrows that resembled buttons on the top were used to dock the window to right or left. Fonts could be resized, which i think was a lot better than scrolling down and up the question. The reaction speed of the whole user interface was so considerably quicker in comparison with VCAP5.5, and there wasn’t any lagging time period experienced when moving over from window to window. One thing to bear in mind: BACKSPACE key is not working! I think this is beneficial since you don’t reload your test window by mistake, nevertheless, it could be bothersome from time to time whenever you type something incorrectly and you have to select and press Del to remove. The Desktop and shortcuts were organized properly, and necessary applications like internet browser or Mirage console can be launched. There is a decent interface for Remote Desktop Manager where you can find all important RDP connection to servers or desktops with no need to type account information. The web browser had all the links in the Favorite Bar. At the time I am penning this, there is no extra Thirty minute extension for Non-Native English speaker at No-Native English country, which is actually a bummer. You’ll find 39 question to respond to within the 3 hours time, and this can be actually really hard for non-native English speakers just like me. Several questions take time to finish, so it is better to bypass the questions that you can’t answer, and complete those you can. After the thirty-nine questions, you are able to get back to the uncompleted questions if you happen to have time. DO not waste a lot of time on one single question! The exam blue print can be obtained on my website at Szumigalski.com. It is well organized and following it for the exam preparation should help a lot. Certainly, the most suitable is if you’ll have lots of practical experience! I’m truly very happy with the examination experience, even though I passed this time around by tiny margin, however i really know what I missed for the exam, study from the errors and practice harder to familiarize myself with the environment. This certification will obviously open up your career prospects!”
