The performance graph for a virtual machine with 1GB of RAM shows the Swap In rate to be 150 MBps and the Balloon value to be at 0 MB. Users of the virtual machine are complaining that performance is slow.

It’s B and C. You are not supposed to install the memory driver alone, it is part of the VMware tools.

Also, by increasing the memory shares, it would posasibly get more memory, so it would swap less.

the fact that the VM shows no balooning seems to indicate that there is no memory pressure on the host. So giving the VM a higher share value should increase performance. Not sure how installing VMWare tools helps, but I think that is the correct answer.

I completely don’t accept your explanation, although correct answer is B and C.

fistly, no balooning, but 150MB swap= severely memory pressure, so given first step is to increase its memory share. if non-response,it shows that it is a necessary that receiving ballooning memory and reducing swap files. VMware tools contains the balooning driver.
