This article says the polling interval is 3 seconds:

1 sec

Look at the CLI extract half way down the page.
1 Second
It’s definitely 3 seconds!

If a heartbeat is not received from the primary appliance within the specified time (default value is 15 seconds), the primary appliance is declared dead.
If you reduce the deadtime configuration to the minimum 6 seconds then it will be 1 second which can be shown with the controller CLI command “show service highavailability”
C Every 5 seconds.
15 second failover = 3 heartbeats * 5 seconds
6 second failover = 3 heartbears * 2 seconds
The NSX Design guide says 1second
https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/products/nsx/vmw-nsx-network-virtualization-design-guide.pdf
It is 3 seconds: http://virtualization24x7.blogspot.de/2015/05/1.html
Just checked this in a Hands-on-Lab environment (HOL-SDC-1603). If you set the declare dead time to 15s (the default), the poll interval is 3s . If you set the declare dead time to 10s, the poll interval is 2s. If you set the declare dead time to 6s (minimum recommended), the poll interval drops to 1s. You can even make the poll interval go up to 7s by setting the declare dead time to 30 seconds.
There is no correct answer to this question without first stating the declare dead time.
BTW, CLI command is “show service highavailability”.
It is actually 1 sec as it is asking about the frequency of the heartbeat which is 1 sec. the time to declare the active node dead is default to 15 sec and can be reduced down to 6 sec. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrUdVd1TEH0 46 minute mark
The heartbeat runs every 1 second, so answer is correct. 15 seconds is the default dead time value for ESG HA. The heartbeat is every 1 second.
the answer is 15 seconds everywhere I look

Page 125, every second there is a keep alive, but if it is missed for 15 seconds it is declared dead.
the answer is A. 1 second
