Or we can type it here! ;D Each instance of a department requiring auditing does need its’ own server. If you put both departments’ shares on the same server, each department would be able to see the audit logs for the other department as well, which breaches the requirements of the question.

Of course, you can share multiple departments’ content on the same server and restrict access without issue, meaning they can share one server.
