C: Sysprep is the only supported method to make a Windows image generic.
Sysprep,
short for System Preparation, is one of the primary tools used for unattended setup of all
flavors of Windows. When used for imaging, Sysprep removes the many unique identifiers
specific to a particular installation of Windows and then configures the installation to run a
brief, GUI-based, mini-setup when the system restarts.

I agree, B should be correct. The others are not Applications that can exist in Configuration Manager.

The practice exams say A. I agree for one simple line in the question. It’s asking for the APPLICATION that needs to exist in the CONFIGURATION MANAGER console. So this is a server side question, not a client side. You need to install the MDS on the server before you create/build/capture images. You do that when you install the SCCM site, which is before the clients are install. SYSPREP is built into the client OS, so that answer is a distractor. USMT is only that, a tool to capture and migrate a user’s settings, so this answer has nothing do with a image deployment as it’s not required to deploy an image.

There are no need for MDT in Configuration Manager 2012. The only good choice here is B.
