You have five computers that run Windows 8.
You need to perform an upgrade installation of Windows 10 on the computers.
What are two possible ways to achieve the goal? Each correct answer presents a complete solution.
A.
Apply an image of Windows 10 by running imagex.exe.
B.
Start the computers from Windows PE, and then run setup.exe from a network share that contains the
Windows 10 installation source files
C.
While signed in to Windows 8, run setup.exe from a network share that contains the Windows 10
installation source files.
D.
start the computers from a bootable USB drive that contains the Windows 10 source files.
E.
Apply updates by using Windows Update.
C & D
I would say C&E because they want an update installation. Think all the other options will trigger a clean installation
I agree with you
You can’t actually do E, since the Windows 8 to Windows 10 upgrade is not an update in Windows Update. Had the question been how to upgrade from the RTM build of Windows 10 to the Anniversary or Creators build of Windows 10, E would have been correct.
In this case, however, both options C & D will detect the current Windows installation and ask if you wish to upgrade or do a clean install.
agree with david & dobby,
Windows Update can’t handle this kind of upgrade like David said
disagree with you. You can upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10 if have WSUS. Just download windows 10 upgrade.
D & E are my answers
I mistyped, C&E are correct
D is incorrected. If you boot from media (cd, usb flash) you cannot perfom upgrade because installer show you message “You must run setup.exe from you running OS”
