A user named User1 has a laptop that runs Windows 10 Pro.
At home, User1 connects to the home network by using an Ethernet connection User1 reports that he
sometimes exceeds his Internet data limit.
You need to prevent the laptop from downloading Windows updates automatically.
What should you do?
A.
From a local Group Policy, modify the Windows Update settings.
B.
From a local Group Policy, modify the Network Connections settings.
C.
From the Settings app. configure a metered connection.
D.
From the Settings app, select Defer upgrades.
Windows won’t automatically download most updates from Windows Update on metered Internet connections. You’ll get a “Download” button you can click whenever you want to install updates. On the Creators Update, Microsoft has now given Windows Update permission to download critical security updates even if your connection is marked as metered. Microsoft has promised not to abuse this.
the operating system only offers this metered option for Wi-Fi or cellular data connections, and it appears that Microsoft assumes that anyone connected to a network using an Ethernet connection has unlimited access to the internet.
So the answer must be A
You must add Ethernet to metered connection list via registry https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/how-to-set-an-ethernet-connection-as-metered-to/ecdaca08-d413-4a6a-9e33-b4afb337fc18?auth=1
I’m not sure for which version of win 10 the exam is, but since the creators upgrade (1703) they have added the Metered connection option to Ethernet connections as well.

So.. Depending on what you’ve got it might be C, or A…
On my exam on a question like this I would personally go for C
from what I got from their site, we are going to be told what version of the OS we are working with, if it makes it relevant to the question:
“When you take the exam, if the answer would be different depending on the product update, we specify the service pack/revision in the question so that candidates have all the information necessary to answer the question correctly.”
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/learning/certification-exam-policies.aspx
So, let’s hope they will give us this information indeed
thanks for sharing..
I think C is the correct answer because we are dealing with just a User at home not in an office with loads of users and work group.
It is C because there is option for metered connection to ethernet connections
It is C because there is option for metered connection to ethernet connections
Local home network, C
correction the answer is A because the question specifies updates
The answer is C. See link below. This feature is an option to monitor a metered connection whether you are on one or not. The option is in the GP.

I go for C.
“Wi-Fi and Ethernet network connections can be set to metered but aren’t by default. Some apps might work differently on a metered connection to help reduce your data usage.”
