A company has an Office 365 tenant.
You must retrieve mailbox diagnostic data.
You need to provide a report with this data for all users.
Which report solution should you choose?
A.
Office 365 admin center
B.
downloadable spreadsheet
C.
reporting Windows PowerShell cmdlets
D.
REST reporting web service
Explanation:
The Office 365 Reporting web service enables developers to integrate information on email and
spam, antivirus activity, compliance status, and Lync Online activities into their custom service
reporting applications and web portals.
Incorrect:
Not A: Office 365 admin center provide predefined charts and lists reports.
Not B: Detailed, flexible analysis of historical and live service data, for example in Microsoft Excelbased score-cards.
Not C: reporting Windows PowerShell cmdlets: Precise data for periodically generated reports in
script-based IT maintenance tools.Office 365 Reporting web service

D (REST Reporting web service) requires programming. That is not stated with the question.
Unclear what “for all users” means. Is it for each user seperately?
It is B. Everyone, who migrated mailboxm can donwload csv and look to diag information on it.
With four different ways to get the data, how can you be sure that all reports return the same data? The spreadsheet and the admin portal both call the Reporting web service, which in turn calls the Windows PowerShell cmdlets. You can also call those cmdlets directly. The Windows PowerShell cmdlets are the only things that access the datamart directly, which ensures that every different type of access method has the same data.
However REST web service is highly customisable so maybe that is why it is the answer – seems like it could be any to me.
I agree with Alison.
Adding to that, the question states ‘Which #should# you use’, MS really recommends using the flexibility in reporting that the REST reporting web service offers.
