Which setting should you configure on the home computers?

A.
Virtual Private Network connection

B.
Remote Desktop local resources

C.
DirectAccess connection

D.
Remote Desktop Gateway IP address

Explanation:
DirectAccess is for Windows Server 2008/2012/Win 7 Ultimate/Enterprise/Win 8 Enterprise
only RD Gateway setup is only for servers
Create VPN through manage networks. File –> Allow incoming connections. Connect
through internet and create VPN which will allow one computer at a time to view the hosts
resources, and only the hosts resources unlike standard VPNs.

This answer is D not A. 100% D.

Yes – the answer is D. Although this answer is recorded as A the question specifically states that the users must not be able to access any other corporate network resource. A VPN solution is an essentially an extension of the corporate network to an external node. Very specific firewall rules would have to be created to configure the VPN connection, so I think the answer is D.

Direct access is also incorrect. For direct access, clients need to run Win 8.1 Enterprise and servers must run Server 2008 R2 or later. Also, the client/server must be running IPv6.

Direct Access does not require Win8.1, my laptop runs Win7 and I use Direct Access to access my company network…

Guess I was wrong but I got this information from MCSA Microsoft Windows 8.1, Complete Study guide, Jeffrey Shapiro and Darril Gibson.

This question is worded incorrectly. The question asks for what configuration can be done on the home computer to 1) Connect to work computer and 2) restrict access to resources. Since answer D is not a configuration that can be performed on the home computer, we are expected rule that one out. Since the computers in the scenario are identified as “Windows 8” and not “Windows 8 Enterprise”, we are to rule out answer C as DirectAccess is not available on all versions of Windows 8. We can rule out answer B because local resources only lets a successful RDP connection also see the local hard drive of the computer initiating the remote connection and does not solve the problem of not being able to connect to the company network. With answers D, C, and B ruled, out we are expected to choose answer A — and here is the problem; a VPN will not restrict your access to other company resources unless you have configured the company router to restrict the VPN connection access. Without that router configuration, answer A would also be incorrect, given the criteria of the question.

I believe the answer is D as well. The Remote Desktop Gateway IP address can be entered on a home computer. When opening up an RDP session you would select “Show Options” first and then the “Advanced” tab in the RDP connection box and in the “Connect from anywhere” section you are able to enter your RD Gateway IP address host.

I agree you are not able to configure RD Gateway server access on a home computer of course

I was wrong. Agree with Cleytonsc

This answer is D not A or ะก. 100% D.

if the answer was D , you would have to set static ip on the work computers not the home which the question clearly states “ON THE HOME COMPUTER”
