A company has client computers that run Windows 8. Each computer has two hard drives.
You need to create a dynamic volume on each computer that maximizes write performance
with data fault tolerance. Which kind of dynamic volume should you create?
A.
Striped Volume
B.
RAID 5 Volume
C.
Spanned Volume
D.
Mirrored Volume
Read performance -> Mirrored
Write performance -> Striped
The answer is correct because striped volumes do not provide data fault tolerance… even though a striped volume would provided better performance. RAID 5 would provide the best performance/fault tolerance, but requires 3+ disks and server OS
It should be RAID 10 a mix between RAID 0 (stripping) and RAID 1 (mirror). RAID 5 is fault tolerance with double parity.
None of the answer is correct…
TimDuncan you are wrong quite a bit. Raid 10 requires a minimum of 4 hard drives.
raid 1 (2 hdd min) and raid 5 (3 hdd min) provide fault tolerance
answer D
