Per Microsoft, technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dn448546.aspx, “File History only saves copies of files in your libraries, contacts, favorites and on your desktop. If you have folders elsewhere you want backed up, you can add them to one of your existing libraries or create a new library.” So a file in the c:\finance directory would need to be added to a library in order for it to be saved by File History in the future. To see what already happened in the past, check the backup log.
