Preparing the Project Close Report
A fi nalized project assessment needs to be prepared and distributed to all of the project
stakeholders. This is the fi nal status report for the project and should include at least the following:
■ Recap of the original goals and objectives of the project
■ Statement of project acceptance or rejection (and the reasons for rejection)
■ Summary of project costs
■ Summary of project schedule
■ Lessons learned and historical data
This report is usually prepared after the post – project review meeting so that lessons
learned and other historical data can be included in the report. You ’ ll distribute this to the
stakeholders after they have accepted and signed off on the project.
