Which two are true about the creation of a Data Guard B…

Which two are true about the creation of a Data Guard Broker configuration?

Which two are true about the creation of a Data Guard Broker configuration?

A.
In a broker configuration, the primary database name must match the DB_UNIQUE_NAME value in the
database initialization parameter file.

B.
A primary database profile may be added to the configuration prior to creating the primary database.

C.
A standby database profile may be added to the configuration prior to creating that standby database.

D.
A newly created broker configuration requires at least one standby database profile to be specified at the
time the configuration is created.

E.
A newly created broker configuration is in the disabled state.

Explanation:
D: Create the Broker Configuration
When using Cloud Control, the Add Standby Database wizard can either add an existing (Oracle RAC or nonOracle RAC) standby database into the configuration or create a new (Oracle RAC or non-Oracle RAC)standby database and add it to the configuration.
E: An Oracle Data Guard configuration must be enabled to be managed or monitored by the broker.
Note: An Oracle Data Guard configuration consists of one primary database and a combination of standby
databases and far sync instances that receive redo directly from the primary database. The Oracle Data Guard
broker logically groups these primary and standby databases into a broker configuration that allows the broker
to manage and monitor them together as an integrated unit.
Incorrect Answers:
B, C: When using DGMGRL, the primary database and a standby database must already exist.

I CAN TELL YOU TRUST THE QUESTIONS NOT THE ANSWERS. THERE ARE AT LEAST 35 QUESTIONS THEY WERE ANSWERED INCORRECTLY. I TRIED MY BEST TO ADD THE CORRECT ANSWERS BASED ON MY TESTING IN MY LAB DG SETUP AND FROM MANUALS.

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Have you cleared the exam?

Chunn

Chunn

Yes I did. That’s why it took a while to respond since I don’t visit this site for a while. However, read the 12c DG Broker and DG Concepts manual one time and don’t rely on the questions alone.

If i go by your option should I be able to pass the exam?

This exam is really a tough one so don’t take it lightly. However, I would like to share few tips on passing this exam based on my own experience. Seems these questions cover the areas you need to know to pass the exam however, don’t just practice with this exam questions and answers alone but find out the reason for why it is true or false by reading relevant topics from 12c DG concepts and admin manual and 12c DG Broker manual which will guarantee passing the exam.

12c DG student guide will give general understanding of the topics however, I think it is not good enough to pass the exam. I had built a DG environment with 4 nodes and practiced everything in the activity guide but no use in the my first attempt and failed with a score of 55%.

If you can afford 5-8GB RAM then you can build a DG environment even with far sync instance with couple of data guard databases within a single VM to practice for the exam.

I can share the notes on setting up the lab and study materials if anyone interested.

so shall we study for the exam from here or what shall we do?

A – Correct. Though it sounds confusing yes.
B – Incorrect. You cannot add primary database profile before creating primary database.
C – Incorrect. You cannot add standby database profile before creating standby database.
D – Correct. When you create a broker configuration you only specify the primary first then add the standby as next step so it doesn’t seems correct.
E- Correct

Can I be able to clear the exam by going thru your answers in comments. Plz reply back.

Yes. However, read the 12c DG Broker and DG Concepts manual one time and don’t rely on the questions alone.

Just FYI. I bought the exact same question dump from another website and prepared for my exam and failed the exam with 55% score (even after going thru entire 12c DG training material). Then went ahead and prepared the exam by setting up a lab and gave the exam and able to score 88%. First exam had majority of the questions from this dump however, 2nd time the questions are different and very few from here so you cannot just rely on this dump alone. I can guarantee if you read the Data Guard Broker and Data Guard Concepts and Admin manual you can clear it.

Correct answer=A,E based on the below:

A is correct as below:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The names for the primary and standby databases must match their database unique names. Fetch these from their DB_UNIQUE_NAME initialization parameter as follows:
CREATE SPFILE FROM PFILE=’pfilename’;

B,C are incorrect as below:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
6.1 Prerequisites for Getting Started

One of the prerequisites for using DGMGRL is that a primary database and any standby databases must already exist. The DG_BROKER_START initialization parameter must be set to TRUE for all databases in the configuration. You must use a server parameter file with the broker (see Oracle Data Guard Installation and DGMGRL Command Usage Notes).

D is incorrect:
+++++++++++++++++++++
6.2.4 Creating a Configuration Task 4: Create the Broker Configuration

A broker configuration is initially created with just a primary database, which in this case is called North_Sales. In a later command, you will add the standby database, South_Sales.

E is correct:
+++++++++++++++++
6.4 Scenario 3: Enabling the Configuration and Databases

So far, the DRSolution configuration is disabled, which means it is not under the control of the Data Guard broker. When you finish configuring the databases into a broker configuration and setting any necessary database properties, you must enable the configuration to allow the Data Guard broker to manage it.

You can enable:

The entire configuration, including all of its databases

A standby database
