Does this meet the goal?

You need to ensure that the developers can manage their own virtual machines.
Solution: You perform the following actions:

In Virtual Machine Manager, you create a new user role named DevUsers that uses the Application Administrator profile.
You create and publish a request offering that allows the DevUsers role to create checkpoints.
You grant Checkpoint permissions to the DevUsers role.
You distribute the Self-Service Portal to the developers.

Explanation:
Virtual Machine Manager Self-Service Portal
The VMM Self-Service Portal is an optional, Web-based component that a VMM
administrator can install and configure to allow users to create and manage their own
virtual machines within a controlled environment on a limited group of virtual machine
hosts. The VMM administrator creates self-service user roles which determine the scope of the users’ actions on their own virtual
machines.
To create, operate, and manage virtual machines, self-service users use the Virtual
Machine Manager Self-Service Portal. The administrator determines which host groups self-service users can create virtual machines
on. When a self-service user creates a virtual machine, the virtual machine is automatically placed on the most suitable host in the host
group based on host ratings.

This should actually be, B: NO
You need App Controller configured and the App Controller portal.

Bulshit. Why do you write shit you have no idea about? The app controller is used for self-service and replaces the old self-service portal. So having an app admin with checkpoint permissions, you now can restore older versions, which is essential to fully managing your VMs and services and not just powering them on and off. The answer is correct.

Bulshit. Why do you write shit you have no idea about? The app controller replaces the old self-service portal, so having an app admin will grant you administrative permissions in either self-service portal (this version of the question is obviously for 2012) and the checkpoint permissions grant you the ability to backup and restore older versions of your services, which is essential to fully managing them. The answer is correct.

If you were an expert at EVERY SINGLE ASPECT of the exam, you wouldn’t be here either. You’re no better than me bud. I bet you’re great at certain things, as am I.

Positive comments would be appreciated as we’re all here for the same reason. Good luck in your studies!

Hippo,

We got off on the wrong foot. I apologize for that. I made more comments on v3 with links but haven’t had the time to do so in v4. I apologize.

This series of questions has been driving me nuts, as well as some of the AD RMS decommissioning questions. I’m not the most efficient at these two subjects, hence my reasoning for being here. I’m pretty good at most other subjects on here, so don’t always disregard my comments. Not everything has been learned from dumps, only some of the weaker areas of knowledge have been. 😉

Help me, help you, bud. This is a learning forum, not a bashing forum. Hope you have a wonderful day!

The answer is correct.

Application Administrator (Self-Service User) Members of the Self-Service User role can create, deploy, and manage their own virtual machines and services by using the VMM console or a Web portal.

Checkpoint Grants members permission to create, edit, and delete checkpoints for their own virtual machines and to restore their virtual machine to a previous checkpoint. Note: VMM does not support checkpoint actions on services.
